Me and my big mouth!
Last night, I was invited to an AIM chat session by narfpinky
, and I ended up entertaining them a bit by recording various things off the top of my head. It started when I simply posted an old recording I'd done of me saying "Narf!"
Anyway, because of that, I decided to record something tonight that I'd made up while in the kitchen re-heating some pizza. After recording this, I decided to put up a bunch of other old and new recordings of me being silly with a microphone. So here we go!
Tonight as I was reheating pizza, I remembered how Jess Harnell does "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" as Elvis Presley and Ozzy Osbourne in one of the unused scenes of Comic Book: The Movie
, so I tried it myself, but then did a third impression, and thought it was rather funny. So I went back to my room and recorded it, preceded by the other two. This is in one take, and is the only take. I could have done my Ozzy a little better. Note that I do the Ozzy slightly differently than Jess did, and as a result, anyone who lives with his or her parents will not want to play this when the parents are able to hear it. I'm not sure whether I should announce who the third voice is... guess I won't, but I'll say that there's some kind of law stating that whenever you do a parody of this singer (which was done many times in classic WB cartoons), you just HAVE to say that last line I put in.http://www.armory.com/~keeper/zzbeer.mp3
Now, for other new and old recordings!http://www.armory.com/~keeper/zznarf.mp3
-- My old "Narf!" recording.http://www.armory.com/~keeper/zzlnarf.mp3
-- Me doing the long "naaaaarf" but in a way differently than Rob Paulsen did it. It utilizes a peculiar soft throat roll that I have developed. Some people think it's cute; some people think it's freaky.http://www.armory.com/~keeper/zzlaugh.mp3
-- Me doing a Pinky sort of laugh. At the end of this recording is the tail end of an aborted take. You'll hear me doing a weird alien rant thing that I do a lot these days.http://www.armory.com/~keeper/zzmofudd.mp3
-- I hadn't done the Mo-Ron voice for a while, so I'm a little rusty on it, but here it is. This is followed, in the same take, by a brief Elmer Fudd. Somewhat incongruous, but the Fudd bit is so good, I left it in. A fellow ragtimer once had me order dinner as Elmer Fudd at a restaurant during the West Coast Ragtime Festival a few years ago. I have developed (but never performed because I need a pianist to play along with some pauses) a routine of singing The Red Rose Rag
as Elmer Fudd (and one line as Scooby Doo).http://www.armory.com/~keeper/zzinhal.mp3
-- Just a weird thing I recorded a while ago, showing off that I can speak while inhaling.http://www.armory.com/~keeper/zzpuppy.mp3
-- On to animal sounds now, here's a recording I did imitating a puppy.http://www.armory.com/~keeper/zzcats1.mp3
-- One long take of a wide variety of cat voices. I once fooled a cat owner into thinking that I was her cat -- so good was my reproduction of her cat's voice.http://www.armory.com/~keeper/zzcats2.mp3
-- Trying to get into the kitten zone. I wasn't in my best form here. Sometimes I can really hit it. It just depends on how my throat muscles feel, or something.
I should record my chimpanzee impression someday...
Anyway, there you go. I know, I know: I'm strange. Deal with it!
